Integrative Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy

Weaving relational psychodynamic and somatic therapy, ritual, and trust in your innate healing wisdom to provide trauma-informed care.

At Tethered Healing, we offer legal psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy in Colorado.

We specialize in working with folks with childhood and adult traumas. If you’ve experienced developmental trauma, childhood trauma, suffer from PTSD or cPTSD, served in the military, worked in a crisis role, survived a cult, we may be a good fit for you. If you struggle with dysregulation, shut-down, sensitivity, or dissociation, we may be a good fit for you. We also enjoy working with people who have been traumatized or harmed by psychedelic experiences and are wanting to repair their relationship to medicine work.

We work with folks for a minimum of 8 weekly preparation sessions to establish more of a relationship and have time to learn more about each other without feeling rushed. During this time, you will develop somatic skills, experience co-regulation, explore the dynamics underlying your traumatic experiences and patterns, and receive experiential-based work that will help you feel more prepared to be open to what arises during your medicine experience. We personalize the dose for everyone, but we aim to help you have an experience you can integrate and increase as we go, as needed.

If you’ve been wanting to go deeper in your healing work,

we may be the right fit for you.

OUR APPROACH to psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy isn’t for everyone. After years of working in the field, we have learned that, in the U.S., these medicines work best when held in an established therapeutic relationship. We take a slow, gradual, and gentle approach to the work with longer preparation and integration periods, far beyond the single session Colorado minimum requirements. While these medicines can be powerful allies, they also can create experiences that are too much, too fast, which can feel harmful to a nervous system and psyche if not held properly. At Tethered Healing, we prioritize facilitating an experience you can actually integrate.

While we are proponents of this work, we do not believe psychedelic-assisted therapy is a front-line treatment. In other words, we believe this work is best for those who have already received weekly regular therapy for at least a year. We believe psychedelic-assisted therapy is not a replacement for good therapy, rather a supplement to existing work.

The Flow of Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy at Tethered Healing:

While each treatment is highly individualized and based on your unique circumstances and needs, treatment typically unfolds like this:

  • Psychological Intake (60 mins)

  • 8 Preparatory Sessions (50 mins)

  • Psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy session (6 hours)

  • 8 Integration Sessions (50 mins)

  • You will meet with Dr. Samadhi who will conduct a more thorough psychological intake to determine eligibility, based on CO regulations and Tethered Healing’s practices. You will also completed a series of screeners that will help determine medical eligibility and if further medical screenings are required for safety.

  • During these sessions, we will first explore your personal history and goals for treatment. Across the 2 months of preparation, we will focus on building safety within the therapeutic relationship, developing mindful awareness, and incorporating both "parts" and somatic work to uncover wounds and process trauma.

Tethered Healing believes this early work is symbiotic with the psilocybin process as it helps foster a sense of inner knowing and increases the window of tolerance by giving people the opportunity to practice relating to internals experiences with acceptance rather than dissociation or resistance.

We will also use this time to explore your lifestyle behaviors and discuss ways to increase health that will support and optimize your dosing session. Similarly, we may also offer and teach breathing exercises and other mindfulness or meditative guidance to support nervous system regulation.

As we get closer to the dosing session, we will focus more on the act of journeying. These preparation sessions help create a mind-set and ensure a safe, productive physical setting that optimizes transformation. Together, we will explore your intentions for the upcoming journey and explore the concept of innate healing wisdom. It is important to note that intentions are best when held lightly, as resistance or attempts to control the experience can produce anxiety and stand in the way of the experience.

  • The medicine session will follow all regulations and take place in a legal, Colorado Healing Center. The medicine session will be from 9:45am to approximately 4:30pm.

The cost is a sliding scale $2000-$2500. The cost for the day includes the practitioner’s time and fees for using the center for the whole day. You will need to bring separate money for your medicine, which is not listed as it is based on dose.

Everything you need for your journey will be provided including playlist, eyeshades, headphones, a comfortable place to lay, light refreshments, & nausea aids. During prep, we will determine what your intention is as well as what personalized rituals and therapeutic touch we will include in your session.

  • Integration sessions help to translate and anchor the teachings from the medicine sessions into life. We will discuss how you responded to the medicine, address any questions or concerns you may have, and review the balance of your treatment plan. Psilocybin-assisted therapy can interrupt long-held, body-based defense structures, and sometimes offers insight into the unproductive assumptions and beliefs related to past trauma. Integration sessions can help to understand, accept, and integrate these previously unconscious beliefs and patterns of behavior. Integration sessions also help develop practices that take lessons from medicine experiences into life. In sum, we'll explore your experience across the themes across body, mind, spirit, nature, and relationships.
